Keely Burke, MA, Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, is an Associate Staff Member at the Center for Creative Growth and provides therapy services under the supervision of the licensed Marriage and Family Clinical Supervisory Team at the Center. Keely is a graduate of the Expressive Arts Therapy department at the California Institute of Integral Studies. Keely has a deep understanding of the connection between early childhood wounding and current struggles in one's personal life, career, and relationships. She developed this understanding during her many years of working with adults and children in a variety of settings. She has worked as an art educator of children ranging from 2 to 18 years old for the past 10 years. Chosen to teach at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Keely focused on helping at-risk girls combat sexism through empowerment in the arts. In addition, she founded a studio project at a learning center in West Oakland and focused on multi-cultural issues. Keely has also worked with women and children who were survivors of domestic violence.

Keely brings warmth through her depth-oriented, yet playful approach to psychotherapy. When suitable she welcomes the opportunity to integrate visual art, music, movement and drama into her therapy work. She is sensitive to the full range of issues each individual brings to therapy, in addition to having special interest in working with women’s issues, trauma, addiction, and couples' issues.

What Keely Says About Being A Therapist

“I believe therapy is first and foremost about honoring the light in each person and allowing them the opportunity to open in a way that is not typical in everyday interactions. I hope to help them find the underlying truths in their inner experience that may not always be available to them. In nurturing truth and awareness, I believe each person will subsequently be able to approach life in a more balanced, whole, inspired, and creative way.”
