Lisa Gilbert, MA, is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (IMF 65451) at the Center of Creative Growth under the supervision of the licensed Marriage and Family Clinical Supervisory Team at the Center. Lisa is a Depth Psychology graduate from Sonoma State University where she studied Jungian psychology. She graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She has over ten years of experience working with children and families in different settings. She has also worked as an advocate for women and children in a community outreach program, where she designed and led a group for teenage girls. Lisa feels that the therapeutic relationship is a unique one in which her clients can express and build a relationship with the parts of themselves that promote healing and growth. Lisa respects that each person has their own unique path of growth and is dedicated to being a guide to that process. She is interested in working with the full range of issues that bring people to seek the support of therapy.
What Lisa Says About Being A Therapist
“It is my privilege to support people in expressing their inner world, struggles, and pain in ways that create resolution of problems and freedom from emotional distress. In expressing our inner world through words, art, music, or movement, we can heal and grow our relationships to ourselves, others, nature, and our community. I also feel that my work as a therapist is to continue strengthening the therapeutic space through my own practice of meditation.”
