Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy

Our focus is to resolve the issues that bring you to counseling and to help you establish or
reestablish your life as a thriving process. Our counseling acts to enliven and release the forces
of positive growth already present within you. We have both licensed therapists and interns on our
staff to assist you to identity and fulfill the goals you seek to accomplish. In individual, couples, or
family therapy, we assist you to grow beyond any patterns from the past that affect you negatively
now, and to help you learn to create and make choices that work for you.

            Our new Intern Program now allows us to provide quality therapy services at greatly reduced rates.

One-Day Workshops and Other Special Events

One-Day Educational Workshops

      We offer one-day Saturday workshops on "Creating Healthy Boundaries," "Creating Healthy Intimacy
in Relationships," and other relevant topics. These one-day workshops combine presentation of
educational material and experiential exercises, so that what you learn is absorbed deeply and is able
to be put into practice in your life immediately. Our one-day workshops are open to current therapy
clients at our Center and to the public. One workshop participant expressed the benefits she gained

Our Group Programs

 

At the Center for Creative Growth, we offer two types of therapy group programs:
 

20-Week Group Intensive Program
    ("Reclaiming Your Inner Child"):

Developed in conjunction with the John Bradshaw Center, this structured, time-limited, intensive group program is specifically designed to heal your core wounds and codependency. The group meets on Saturdays for 20 sessions. Group members focus on accomplishing the following:

· Heal toxic shame and childhood wounds
· Heal feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt
· Recover your inner child and authentic self
· Create relationships where truth can be spoken, feelings can be expressed, and trust can exist
· Free yourself from painful relationships with parents, partners, and family members
· Establish healthy boundaries

This intensive experience combines group therapy and education to heal the effects of codependency, a condition that has been described as "the disease of the lost self." This loss of self is the legacy of growing up in a dysfunctional or addictive family and being subjected to emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. As a result, the codependent relies on compulsive behaviors and approval from others in an attempt to find safety, self-worth, and a sense of identity.

One graduate of the Program described her results this way:

"I stopped feeling worthless. I don't feel like damaged goods anymore. I have the energy to take care of myself physically and spiritually. I have hope and a knowing that I'll get what I need from the world and people in it."

"Living Life Fully" Ongoing Therapy Groups

Our ongoing therapy groups are designed for people who wish to create authentic, nurturing, and enduring relationships in life. Our approach is to identify and heal feeling of inadequacy and self-doubt and to free yourself from painful relationships with parents, partners, and family members. Group members learn practical skills and tools to safely express feelings, establish healthy boundaries, and reclaim spontaneity, joy and clarity about the future. Our ongoing groups provide a vibrant and safe space for you, in which to work on deep issues in a nurturing, shame-free environment.
 

We offer a Tuesday evening mixed group for men and women, a  Thursday daytime mixed group for men and women, and a Thursday evening therapy group for men focusing on "Becoming the Whole Man You Truly Are."
